“Gitano” by Joaquin Cortes in Marbella
The famous dancer and choreographer, Joaquin Cortes, has chosen Marbella to open his new production. After travelling around the United States and Latin America, Joaquin Cortes has returned to his roots to unveil his newest and most personal performance: “Gitano”.
A little history
Joaquin Cortes, who was born in Cordoba, went to live in Madrid at a young age, and by the age of twelve he was starting his first dance lessons. Just two years later, he had already joined the National Ballet in Spain. Since then, he has been traveling and performing at some of the greatest theatres around the world, in cities like New York and Moscow. Today, he is the best-known international dance figure from Spain.
What to expect?
Of course, as with his other performances, one should always expect an evening of great dancing and exciting entertainment. In “Gitano”, Joaquin Cortes ambitiously mixes a range of dance styles: flamenco, classical ballet, jazz, Latin, Arabic and contemporary Spanish dancing. It’s also Joaquin Cortes’ biggest production to date, with 30 fabulous musicians and dancers accompanying him on stage, which should create a memorable performance.
It’s Armani!
Giorgio Armani, one of the most elite fashion designers and godfather of Joaquin Cortes, is in charge of designing the outfits for the performers. With Armani in charge of the wardrobe, we can expect some stylish costumes.
